Did you know that Ascension was invited to participate in Amazing Parish?
If you missed the first article in the series, we recommend you read it first.
Our New Organizational Structure
This series of articles is aimed at informing Ascension parishioners about parish leadership and who is involved in guiding the operation of the parish. Fr. Gary, the pastor, relies heavily on advice from advisory bodies made up of parishioners and staff. The Parish Finance Council assists the pastor in managing parish finances and budget. The Parish Pastoral Council advises the pastor and parish staff on how the pastoral needs of parishioners are being met and how Ascension can best achieve its mission. Other bodies, such as the School Funding Council, the Parish Liturgy Committee and the Parish Special Needs Team advise Fr. Gary on specific issues. Mrs. Wright, the school principal, benefits from the advice and assistance of the School Advisory Council. Below you will see part two of a five-part series exploring the recent reorganization of the parish staff and administrative reporting relationships.
After attending the conference and learning about the Amazing Parish model, Fr. Gary reorganized our parish staff into teams with a pastoral associate leading each group. The 5 Pastoral Associates report directly to Fr. Gary.
