 Communion

Catholics have the opportunity to receive the Eucharist with us daily.  Those living the faith attend mass on Sunday & Holy Days of Obligation.

Second Grade students enrolled in Youth Faith Formation & Ascension Catholic School prepare for the celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.  Attendance in religion class in the First grade is strongly encouraged.  Parents and students are expected to take a very active part in the preparation for both sacraments.

Third through Eight Grade students who have not received their First Reconciliation of Communion will prepare separately in addition to their attendance at classes in their respective grade levels.

 Confirmation

The Sacrament of confirmation is conferred in the Eighth Grade.  Youth Faith Formation & Ascension Catholic School students prepare by attending all scheduled classes during 7th & 8th Grade.  In addition, they attend the candidate/sponsor sessions designed to assist the spiritual growth of each candidate.  Service projects and a retreat are part of the requirement for being ready to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
