Richard (Dick) & Louise Parizek’s Eucharistic Witness

Dick and Louise Parizek

We have been married 44 years and during those years we have done most things together. A couple of years ago, we both felt the call to become Eucharistic Ministers – so we attended a training session. We both felt nervous the first several times of serving and worried that we might drop the Precious Body, spill the Precious Blood, or trip leaving the altar. We prayed that we would be calm and focused on the great honor of serving. Then the pandemic hit and we stayed home during the shut-down. We missed physically receiving and serving the Eucharist. After a few months when we again began attending Mass, we both felt very emotional about it. We again felt the closeness to Christ that participating in the Eucharist brings. We haven’t forgotten that tremendous feeling of joy that brought tears to our eyes when we could once again participate fully in the Eucharist. We feel it is a great honor and privilege to serve our wonderful parish.
