When Fr. Gary submitted his resignation to retire, the Pastoral Council ceased activities. The council ceased activities because its purpose is to advise the pastor. Upon submitting his resignation letter to retire, Fr. Gary became the Parochial Administrator of Ascension until a new pastor is named. 

When the new pastor is named, he will initiate his Pastoral Council.
