Care for the Sick and the Caregiver:
Are you finding it a struggle, dealing with a major change in health with a spouse, parent, sibling or a friend? You are not alone. We offer comfort, support and companionship during difficult times. Ascension is planning a new support ministry for caregivers on the 2nd Thursday of the month beginning again in the fall.
We also offer a Respite Ministry where someone can come to your home and give you some much needed time away (and your loved one with a new pal!)
We can help with meals, an ear to listen, bring Jesus in the Eucharist to the sick!
We are also sponsoring “KS Advocates for Better care.
“Kansas Advocates for Better Care exists to advocate for the fundamental rights of all older adults to be treated with dignity and respect and to receive quality elder care. KABC advocates for quality care through legislative advocacy, caregiver training, as well as guidance, support, resources and referrals for consumers, caregivers, and other professionals working with older adults. KABC offers all services and resources free of charge, and we would love to be of help to anyone in your congregation who may have questions or is considering long term care. KABC is a statewide 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, funded by members, contributors and grants for special purposes.” They will help with any questions about in home care, assisted Living or nursing facilities.
