As we introduce a new name for our parish publication, we wanted a name that beautifully reflects both who we are as a parish and the mission we are called to live each day.

Fiat Lux is Latin for “Let there be light,” the powerful words spoken by God at the dawn of creation. For us at Church of the Ascension, these words speak directly to our mission: to draw people into transformational encounters with Jesus Christ and His Church.

When we encounter Christ, our hearts are changed. We are transformed by His love and invited to become bearers of His light in the world around us. As disciples, we are called to reflect that light by proclaiming the Gospel, worshiping wholeheartedly, serving generously, and loving like Jesus.

Fiat Lux is more than a publication, it’s an invitation. Within its pages, you will discover opportunities to grow in faith, become more engaged in parish life, learn more about the richness of our Catholic faith, and read stories of fellow parishioners whose lives have been transformed through encounters with Christ.

Our hope is that Fiat Lux will inspire, encourage, and uplift our parish community as together we continue striving to encounter Christ, be transformed by His grace, and shine His light brightly in the world.
