Liturgical Ministry
As we celebrate Mass, members of our parish community are invited to serve the entire assembly through various liturgical ministries. Below you’ll find more information about the opportunities to serve at Church of the Ascension.
ALTAR SERVERS
Assist the priest in celebrating Mass. Teens and youths in 5th grade and older currently practicing their faith are eligible.

LECTORS
Proclaim the Word of God at Sunday Masses and special celebrations. Must be actively living your faith at Church of the Ascension. Training & commissioning required.

GREETERS
Welcome visitors and parishioners before all Masses. Assist with distributing bulletins after Mass.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION – Masses
This ministry offers the opportunity to distribute the Precious Body and Blood of our Lord at Holy Day, weekend, weekday, special and funeral Masses. Must be 16 years of age, confirmed and actively living your faith at Church of the Ascension. Training & commissioning required.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION – Homebound & Facilities
This ministry offers the opportunity to distribute the Precious Body and Blood of our Lord to our parishioners who are hospitalized or residents at one of the local assisted living facilities and our homebound parishioners. Must be 16 years of age, confirmed and actively living your faith at Church of the Ascension. Training & commissioning required.

This ministry offers the opportunity to prepare hosts, wine, and other necessities for for Mass.

FUNERAL LITURGY COORDINATOR
Hosea-Come back to Me with all your heart
Are you worried about a loved that that has fallen away from or is lukewarm in the church? Do you believe in the power of prayer? Then Hosea is the group for you! We are a group of prayer warriors, praying for all those who need to return to Jesus and His love. You will receive an email each week on Fridays at 3:00pm (the holiest of hours). When you receive it, read the prayer and lift all our loved ones up to Jesus. If interested, email Tricia Baldwin to have your email added to the group.

Corpus Christi Procession
After Corpus Christi Mass, we process the Blessed Sacrament through the parking lot and back into the church for Adoration to celebrate the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ.

Saturday Mass, 4:30pm, three to four times annually. Knights of Columbus members.

Contemporary music. Instrumentalists; high school and young adult voices.
