RCIA

RCIA is the process of welcoming new adult members into the Catholic community by the community. It is an apprenticeship period during which time those interested in Catholicism are introduced to Christ their Teacher and taught the way Catholics respond to His teaching. Every adult parish member can be part of RCIA through becoming a presenter, sponsor or serving on a hospitality team.

Are you or someone you know interested in becoming Catholic? The c hurch has a process called the Rite of Christian Initation of Adults (RCIA) which is a process of meeting each week to learn more about the Catholic Faith, what we believe and why.  The process beigns in September and the first 8 weeks are called the "Period of Inquiry".  During this time, people are encouraged to come to the sessions and have their questions answered.  At the end of that period, individuals decide if they would like to continue coming to the sessions.  Those who do then continue to meet each week until Easter Vigil (the night before Easter Sunday) when they are received into the church.  At Ascension, our sessions meet on Sunday alternating each week between Sunday AM (9:15 - 11am) and Monday PM (6:15 - 8pm).  Those interested are invited to contact Liz Willman, RCIA Director at (913) 681-3348 ext. 139 or by email at: This email address is being protected from spambots. Although the official proceess starts in September, anyone can call at any time of the year.  Throughout the year, monthly sessions are held for those looking into the process, to answer questions prior to the start of the next year.

BEEN AWAY FROM THE CHURCH FOR SOME TIME
If you are already a Catholic but have been away from the Church, the Mass, or the Sacraments, and feel disconnected in any way, we invite you to become part of our community.

If you or anyone you know is interested in joining the Catholic Community, please contact the parish office at 681-3348 for more information.
