Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life in fear; rather look to them with full hope that, as they arise ,God will deliver you out of them. He has kept you hitherto, do you but hold to his dear hand and He will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand He will take you in His arms. Do not then look forward to what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace then and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations. St. Francis De Sales
Care for the Sick and the Caregiver:
Are you finding it a struggle, dealing with a major change in health with a spouse, parent, sibling or a friend? Or are you experiencing a change in your own health? Living with a personal illness or having to care for and or love someone who is chronically or terminally ill can be one of the most difficult challenges you’ll ever face. You are not alone. We offer comfort, support and companionship during difficult times. Ascension has a support group “Together on a Journey” that meets the 1st Thursday of every month at 7pm, when needed, after the Rosary and Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. We also offer a Respite Ministry where someone can come to your home and give you some much needed time away (and your loved one with a new pal!) We can help with meals, an ear to listen. Please contact Jean in the office for more info or with questions.
